Call for Abstracts

General information

Interested scientists from all scientific fields willing to participate shall write abstracts following the below indicated guidelines and send them by e-mail attachment to david.schnaiter@i-med.ac.at until July 15^th 2009 at the latest.

The scientific committee (reviewing committee) will communicate its decision regarding acceptance or rejection of the abstracts to the authors in July 2009. Accepted abstracts will be published in the conference booklet available at the registration desk after your arrival to Norway. The scientific committee will review all abstracts. This committee reserves the right to change your presentation from oral to poster presentation. The acceptance of an abstract submitted as paper does not imply that the paper will be presented orally at the conference. The decision of the reviewing committee to this effect will only be taken once the review of the full paper is completed. The authors of abstracts accepted for exhibition as posters will receive further instruction for formatting. The poster formatting information will be available at the conference webpage.

In general all costs for traveling and accommodation have to be covered by the respective participant except for invited key-note speakers that will separately receive an invitation from the organizing committee.

Full papers will be published within a common edition of “Science without Borders. Transactions of the International Academy of Science H&E” or other international media.

Instructions for Preparing Abstracts

-    Only MS Word documents are accepted

-    Text must be written in English. Abstracts submitted in other languages will not be taken into consideration.

-    Formatting: Times New Roman, 11pt., single line spacing

-    Paragraphs: Indent the text, setting a tab to a 5 character indent at the beginning of each new paragraph, except the first. Do not leave any space between paragraphs.

-    The abstract must not exceed one page including tables or illustrations: effective space 16 cm (width) x 23 cm (height) per page (This means 400 words minimum up to about 600 words maximum).

-    Black and white tables, illustrations and photographs may be digitized and integrated

-    Underlining/Italic type may be used to stress words or phrases.

-    The document should be entitled as “NAME_TITLE.doc” Mac users are requested to add “.doc” at the end of the file name and assure MS Word compatibility.

-    Please send your abstract as an e-mail attachment to david.schnaiter@i-med.ac.at

-    Absolute deadline for receiving abstracts: July 15^th 2009

The following items must be included or attached:

• Type of presentations (poster or voluntary paper)
• Title
• Author(s)
• Affiliation(s)
• E-mail, telephone no. and mailing address of the main author
• Between 3 and 5 keywords
• A digital portrait fotograph (digital passport fotograph) of the main author in good resolution (300dpi desired)

Title: Please Capitalize the First Letter of Each Word of the Title and Flush to the Left Margin in Bold Letters. Start the Author’s Name after Leaving One Line Space.
